Why would I be interested in ClearCorrect clear aligner therapy?
Even more important than getting a thorough cleaning or a well crafted filling is getting a good understanding of dental health. At Gladnick Family Dentistry and Cosmetic Dentistry, we take patient education very seriously, and it's one of our favorite parts of our jobs. There is nothing better than empowering patients to take care of their teeth through good hygiene and healthy habits. Patients love this too! When our patients master good oral hygiene, they eliminate bleeding in their gums, drastically reduce their risk for cavities, lengthen the lifespan of fillings and crowns, and notice lighter teeth with less plaque.
But some of our patients were frustrated. even though their teeth and gums were free of cavities and plaque, something wasn't right. They noticed crooked teeth, teeth with spaces in between them, overlapped teeth, rotated teeth, and shifted teeth. In a Perfect world, we would all be born with healthy teeth that are bright, white, well proportioned, and straight. Some of us are born with naturally straight teeth, but most of us are not. Others had straight teeth at one time but they have noticed the teeth starting to crowd with each passing year, even though they had braces when they were younger.
If this sounds like you, clear aligner therapy from ClearCorrect can help!
What is clear aligner Therapy? And who is ClearCorrect, anyway?
Clear aligner therapy is an alternative to metal braces. Clear aligner therapy uses a series of thin, removable, custom-made aligners that fit right over your natural teeth to create a more ideal dentition. Companies like ClearCorrect have revolutionized the orthodontics world, giving patients the ability to have straighter smiles without putting up with two years of wires and brackets fixed to their teeth. Because aligners are removable, patients can brush and floss their teeth just like they already do every day. This means less of a risk for cavities and demineralization of the teeth, which is common with traditional braces.
Aligners are worn 22 hours a day and removed only when eating. After a week or two weeks of wear, the teeth have been gently moved enough that the patient can insert the next set of aligners, and little by little the teeth are more ideally positioned. Patients love clear aligner therapy for many reasons, but one of the best parts is most people don't even see the aligners. And unlike braces, there are no sharp areas poking into your cheeks and gums.
ClearCorrect is a dental laboratory based in Round Rock, Texas, and has been an important part of the orthodontics world since 2006.
I'm interested in ClearCorrect, what happens next?
For patients interested in clear aligner therapy, the first appointment consists of a thorough exam and a digital scan, photographs, and x-rays if necessary. The scan is immediately sent to ClearCorrect, where it is analyzed. After that, a simulated model is created that shows how your teeth will move from aligner to aligner, and how your teeth are likely to look once treatment is complete. After reviewing the simulation with Dr. Tommy or Dr. Liz, the aligners are manufactured and mailed to the dental office. We will make sure the aligners fit perfectly, and we'll see you at regularly scheduled intervals until your treatment is complete, and your teeth look and feel gorgeous and healthy. You won't be able to stop smiling!
